Anonymous I bought this hat in blue and boy, does this color really pop! It's a very cool(both temp and fashion-wise) hat to wear in warm climates and fairs well against 15mph wind days thanks to the removable chin cord. Also, it does a great job at blocking out the sun or covering your face partially from a stalking ex thanks to the large brim. In all seriousness, consider buying this if you find yourself outdoors a lot and want to block out the blistering sun from well.. blistering your face!

hikerbee I absolutely love this hat. I have thick hair and this hat's design and fabric gives my head plenty of breathing room which helps to keep me cool. (Anyone with lots of thick hair knows what I'm writing about.)

I've gotten several comments on how stylish the hat is, which always makes a girl happy. But the purpose of keeping my face shaded and my head cool is the #1 priority, and this hat, meets those needs.

It's also adjustable around the head which helps in windy conditions. (A neck strap is nice, but kind of dorky. Keeping the hat secured around my head is a plus.)

I'm considering it my signature look on the trails.

DeafEmily I use this hat during recess time and it protects my face/decollete from the intense noon day sun. Moreover, my head measurements are 8 and 1/2 and it is difficult to find womens hat that size. This hat supercedes all my expectations. I am buying more! I wish it came in more colors and wider brims.

JULIE I wish I could have viewed this on a person before purchasing it but the only web site that shows it on a head of any kind is Outdoor Research. I almost returned this hat because I felt like I was in the Australian outback every time I put it on.... my son disagree's and calls this my cowboy hat. Either way I was not looking for that style but its starting to grow on me. I purchased the red which is very nice and everyone else seems to think so because I get an awful lot of attention whenever I wear this hat.... might be the Australian outback look too!!! This hat is very light weight and lives up to its name... roller. Every time the wind blows this hat tends to take off and roll around on my head.... thank goodness for the string. Make sure you check the weather for high winds before setting out and pull the string tight if there is wind in the forcast because this hat will blow! One other set back which I am learning to live with is that you can only wear it when the sun is high in the sky.... by the end of the day, the brim does not offer enough eye protection from the sun. Overall, nice hat and good quality. Might go for the sombrero style some day.

Mary at the "World" I bought this for a trip to Disneyworld and ended up wearing a baseball hat instead because I have very long hair and I had it up in a ponytail 100% of the time due to the heat and humidity. You can't wear this hat and have a (high) ponytail at the same time. I was bummed, but I still consider it a decent hat.

Kathy Kayaker I bought this hat for a 4 day kayaking trip and it worked great. Even with some pretty good winds and rain, it managed to keep my face relatively "dry". Just make sure you tighten it all the way so it stays on, especially if the winds are blowing.

Rachel I work outside in Florida and I love this hat. Great protection from the sun, not too hot, and holds up well after repeated washings. I bought this one for the beach.

Anonymous The hat serves its purpose well in general-it is lightweight and has a chin strap that's useful if you hike in windy places. The crown is shallow which is both good and bad. The depth of the hat is good if you hike in a hot place (keeps you cool) and allows for better visibility. The bad part is that, despite the 3 inch brim, the sun isn't blocked as well. This is a mild inconvenience and is the only weak aspect of the design. Wear sunglasses with it. The red is a great clay red color. In terms of size, I got a medium which fits my big head well.

Anonymous Bought this for a trip I took recently. The hat packed well into a duffel bag and was great for keeping my face out of the sun. The strap underneath the chin was very helpful since many of the places we were in were very windy. GREAT HAT!
